Session Types

We try to be as flexible as possible with every element of the service we provide. We offer face-to-face visits as well as remote video consultations and therapy sessions. Duration, frequency and intensity of sessions varies, depending on the needs and requests of each family. Regular sessions are available, as well as more infrequent consultations. We also offer intensive blocks of input, and occasionally run group therapy sessions.

About Us

Based in West Lothian, we provide primarily a clinic-based service to children all around Scotland from our brand new therapy space ‘The Bothy’. Our homely, bright and engaging environment allows families and individuals to come and access our services and equipment under the guidance of our highly specialised physiotherapists. We continue to offer a limited number of home visits within our local area to children and young people.

In contrast, our adult services are based almost entirely within the community, allowing us to provide functional rehab within an individual’s own home.

Mobile Physiotherapy Services

We provide a mobile service within our local area - bringing the highest quality of physiotherapy input direct to our clients. For children this can work really well as means they are already in a safe space and it can be useful to work with the toys and equipment that you already have at home. Please be aware that this service is currently very limited but local enquiries are welcome.

A home-based service for adults eliminates the challenge of transferring tasks and activities to be practised from the clinic in to the home – meaning that repetition and subsequent motor learning is much easier to achieve. For those who are less mobile, it means that basic tasks and transfers can be practised and utilised in a far more meaningful way.

.Clinic Update

Our Summer Holiday Intensive Programme is now fully booked, and we are currently accepting bookings for August through to October and beyond.

We continue to welcome enquiries from new families. Whether you have concerns about your child’s development and would like a specialist assessment, or your child has an established diagnosis requiring ongoing physiotherapy, we are here to help.

We specialise in supporting babies, children and young people with a wide range of neurodevelopmental conditions, providing personalised physiotherapy from infancy through to 18 years of age and beyond where appropriate. Every child is unique, and we work closely with families to help each child achieve their individual potential.

Continuing to Grow

At Movement Physiotherapy, we are passionate about continually developing our knowledge and skills so that the children and families we support have access to the very latest approaches in paediatric physiotherapy.

We are delighted to share that Kirsteen has recently achieved her Intermediate A qualification in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) and is now one of only two independent practitioners in the UK qualified at this advanced level. This is an exciting milestone for our clinic, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this advanced training will have for the children and families we work with.

Intensive Therapy Programmes

Following the success of our intensive therapy programmes, we will be offering additional Intensive Therapy Programmes throughout the year - these will be largely DMI based, however, these focused blocks of therapy are individually tailored to each child and can provide an excellent opportunity to build new skills, increase confidence and make meaningful progress towards personalised goals.

If you would like to find out whether a DMI Intensive Programme could be suitable for your child, we would be delighted to hear from you and discuss the options available.
